Welcome to the Round Rock Ladies Latte Bible Study Circle Blog!
A BLOG IS BORN! And why not? Never mind! The truth of the matter is, unfortunately, everyone
can't make it to Ladies Latte all the time, so I am going to attempt a weekly blog for those of you
who fall into that sad category. Just to keep you in the loop, so to speak. We might even have guest
bloggers as well to cover the meeting if I have to go into hiding for some reason.
If you have visited the Latte site much at all, I am sure you know that the subject we are looking into is Wisdom, Attitudes, and Character. LOL, right? You get a bunch of women together and you're swimming in so many attitudes you could float an aircraft carrier! However we are blessed because THESE women are TRYING to shape their attitudes to conform to the Word.
In our first couple of studies we basically established that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and that we can trust it without any fear of it failing us. From where I stand there isn't really ANYthing else that I can say that about. Remember that old song--"on Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. . ." With that being made clear it is an easy leap to find out what the Word has to say about establishing principles in our lives that will help us to make WISE choices on a daily basis.
I guess one of the things that keeps coming back to my mind is that the Bible says (paraphrase) "with all your getting---get understanding." Then if you dig a little deeper UNDERSTANDING is defined as "knowledge of the holy". WOW! and wow. Getting knowledge of the holy is a continual journey. I know in my own walk I am continually discovering things that please and do NOT please Him. It is a constant realignment of myself--my opinions, my speech, my relationships. . . . . .of course the list is endless! How grateful I am that I have an ABSOLUTE in my life! In a world that is constantly making moral shifts and social adjustments and political moves I can run back to the Word to find out where I should position myself on these issues.
In returning over and over What Did You Study?to the Word I have found plenty of ideas on becoming wise. One of the best ways to become WISE is to establish some Biblical characteristics in your life. Try to carve a few pillars in your life: prayer, purpose, perseverance, peacefulness, perception, praise, pleasantness, just to name a few. I think you will find that making wise decisions comes a lot easier when they are based on the Word of God! And in so doing I think my ATTITUDE just might be getting better!
